LEARNING & ADVENTURE
ALA is a two week programme. The first week consists of online lectures that you can take from anywhere in the world. The second week you get to explore Croatia on the most beautiful and unique ship. Between the sessions and activities, we want you to enjoy your life to the fullest. Explore the ancient coastal towns, enjoy spectacular sunsets, snorkel in the crystal clear waters and party on the most beautiful beaches the Adriatic has to offer. Use your free time to enjoy world-famous Mediterranean cuisine and locally handpicked wines.

ABOUT CROATIA
With a long and beautiful coastline flanked by more than a thousand islands, Croatia is a true Mediterranean gem. When speaking about the beautiful country of Croatia startups may not be the first thing that springs to mind. Indeed, the country is most popular as a tourist destination, but Croatia's entrepreneurs haven't been quiet: Unicorns like the leading global communication platform, Infobip, and the future of mobility, Rimac - Buggati are significant local hero businesses now, and the region can boast of high-quality talent in the tech, automotive, manufacturing, and agtech spaces. Meet people form these industries, learn from the leaders of this vibrant tech ecosystem and get to know Croatia.
WEEK 1- ONLINE WEEK
June 27 - July 1, 2022During the first week, you will have the opportunity to get to know each other, through a series of online lectures and workshops designed to develop new competences and leadership skills.
The course prepares participants for leadership situations in a contemporary business environment. Upon the completion of this course, participants will be familiar with the main tenets, as well as strengths and weaknesses, of the major approaches to leadership. Participants will also acquire leadership skills and will be able to apply theoretical knowledge in solving real leadership problems. The course will consist of lectures, discussions, interactive presentations, exercises, and role-plays.
Earn your credits
Upon successful completion of the course, participants will be awarded with 4 ECTS/ 2 US credits and will receive a certificate from Luxembourg School of Business and Zagreb School of Economics and Management, the leading Business school in Central and Eastern Europe.

WEEK 2- adventure week
24 - 31 July, 2022The second week is an all-inclusive, action-packed Adriatic journey. Each day has a new destination, a new Mediterranean island for you to explore. Each destination offers a new narrative and a new perspective on the historical, social and political realities, as you hear from influential leaders across different fields. You will get the chance to reflect and analyze leadership best practices and learn about different leadership approaches. The program will help you develop your unique leadership style.

The ship
Your home on the seaYou will explore the Croatian coast on the most unique, captivating ship available for charter in Croatia. The ship will give you an incredible comfort in its salon, lounge bar with piano, open terrace and extraordinarily equipped cabins. Exceptional liveaboard spaces; 250 square meters of open area for leisure and sunbathing, sauna, wellness zone with massage on board and a sundeck bar are just some of the facilities offered on the ship.

Bruno Filipi, MSc is an Executive In Residence at the Zagreb School of Economics and Management and a Lead Business Consultant at “Fabrica” LLC. A boutique C-Suite Consulting Company. He completed the General Management program at IMD Business School and Advanced Management Program – AMP 164 at Harvard Business School. He worked as CEO/COO of LURA Group, President of Coca – Cola for South Pacific and China and Managing Director of Atlantic Multipower Germany GmbH. He holds a Master of Economics with a major in Information System Design from the University of Zagreb.

Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović is the 4th and 1st female President of Croatia (2015-2020) with broad national and international experience in politics, diplomacy and security studies. During her career as an elected official and in national and international civil service, among other, she was Croatia’s first female Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Ambassador to the United States, Mexico, Panama and OAS, as well as the first female Assistant Secretary General and member of Senior Leadership of NATO.
She has been elected an independent member of the International Olympic Committee, and has been appointed Chair of the Future Hosts Commission for the Games of the Olympiad. Currently she is a Special Advisor to the Dean of the Zagreb School of Economics and Management, and serves on the boards of a number of not-for-profit institutions, such as Friends of Europe, the US Atlantic Council, GLOBSEC, Halifax International Security Forum, and the Nizami Ganjavi International Center.
She is a Member of the High-Level Advisory Council for the High Representative for the UN Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC), the Global Ambassador for Immunization for Women Political Leaders (WPL), and chair emerita of the Council of Women World Leaders. Parallel to her diplomatic and political careers, she has pursued an academic career in government, international relations and security studies at the Vienna Diplomatic Academy, the George Washington University, Harvard University, the Johns Hopkins University, and the University of Zagreb. She is a recipient of the 2019 Fulbright Lifetime Achievement award for her "remarkable contributions as a leader, diplomat, and public servant", and a number of other national and international awards, decorations, recognitions, honorary doctorates and honorary citizenships.

Mato Njavro, PhD, is the dean of the Zagreb School of Economics and Management, where he teaches financial courses. Mato Njavro is also a professor at the Luxembourg School of Business and a lecturer at the University of St. Gallen and Singapore Management University where he teaches the Chinese Economy course. From 2016 to 2020, Mato resided in Singapore where he worked at the Institute of Management of the University of St.Gallen in Asia (SGI-HSG) and Singapore Management University. Before moving to Singapore, Mato spent a year as a postdoctoral fellow at Harvard University. His research interests are focused on financial markets, public policy and economic development. He is the author and co-author of several scientific papers and studies, including the Harvard Business School case: “Atlantic Group” on one of the largest M&A transactions in the CEE region.
He is the founder and academic director of the New Europe Business Forum, an interdisciplinary event that brings together world leaders from various fields once a year to discuss topics of great importance to our society as a whole such as entrepreneurship, leadership, scientific innovation and economic policy.
He completed his undergraduate and graduate studies at the Bocconi University in Milan in the field of economics and finance, and received his PhD from the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland in the field of finance. Before earning his PhD, he gained work experience in London working for Lehman Brothers and Nomura, in the investment banking sector.

Dr. Borna Jalsenjak is a professor and Vice Dean for Research and Faculty Development at the Luxembourg School of Business in Luxembourg. He also serves as an invited faculty member at St. Ambrose University in the United States, at Zagreb School of Economics and Management, and at the Faculty of Philosophy and Religious Studies, the University of Zagreb in Croatia. He teaches courses on leadership, business ethics, critical thinking, and philosophy. His research interests are business ethics, CSR, and the cross-section between leadership and philosophy. Besides teaching and research, he dedicates his time to coaching.
Dr. Jalsenjak has a master’s degree in philosophy and religious studies from the Faculty of Philosophy of the Society of Jesus in Croatia and a doctorate in philosophy from the University of Zagreb. In addition, he has taken professional development programs at IESE Business School in Spain and has finished the ICF-certified coach training at Erickson Coaching International in Canada.

Magnus Resch, Ph.D., is the world leading art market expert. He is an art market economist, serial entrepreneur and bestselling book author. He is founder of Magnusclass.com, Larryslist.com and Magnus.net, the Shazam for art. Leonardo DiCaprio is an investor and advisor to the company. Magnus is also a Professor for art economics. He lectures at Yale University. Magnus holds a Ph.D. in economics and studied at Harvard, the London School of Economics and the University of St. Gallen. He is the author of six books on the art market. Magnus’ career has been portrayed in a Harvard Business School case study and in various articles, including the New York Times, WSJ, Vanity Fair and the Financial Times.

Travel information
Split Airport (SPU) is serviced with direct flights from every major European city, as well as from some long-haul destinations. The airport is located 10 minutes drive from the City of Trogir. Please arrive before noon on July 24th 2022. We will happily pick you up from the airport.
All cabins are double occupancy with one queen bed or two twin beds. If you are not traveling with a companion we will pair you with a traveler of the same gender.
